BSI-PCR performance on patient level by infection plausibility of reference diagnosis. Plausibility of infection was considered confirmed in patient with a post hoc likelihood of infection rated as probable or definite. Since BSI-PCR is a multiplex real-time PCR containing 17 microbiological targets, multiple positive results were possible per patient. Therefore, patients with both true positive and false positive results were classified as “partly true positive”
