Shoot biomass (A), P content in shoot tissue (B), root dry matter (C) and total root length D)of maize plants (cv. Jessy) grown for 37 days on a calcareous Loess subsoil (pH 7.6) supplied with Rock-P (Ctrl, MCP treatment) or with soluble Ca(H2PO4)2 as positive control (P-Ctrl). All plants received DMPP-stabilized ammonium (80 mg N kg soil−1) and calcium nitrate (20 mg N kg soil−1) as nitrogen sources. Data represent means and SE of ten replicates. A One-way ANOVA with Tukey test was performed for data comparison. Different letters indicate significant differences between treatments (p < 0.05).
