This graph shows that the trend of use of MM in health sciences was generated using following search strategy: TITLE (‘mixed methods’ OR ‘mixed method’) AND DOCTYPE (ar) AND PUBYEAR > 2002 AND PUBYEAR < 2017 AND (LIMIT-TO (DOCTYPE, ‘ar’)) AND (LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘MEDI’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘SOCI’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘PSYC’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘NURS’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘ARTS’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘HEAL’) OR LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, ‘DECI’)) AND (LIMIT-TO (LANGUAGE, ‘English’)) AND (LIMIT-TO (SRCTYPE, ‘j’)). The 2003 benchmark was chosen because it was the year of the publication of the first edition of the SAGE handbook on MM (27)
