Striatal neurons were transfected with FH₃₂₂₁-18 or -100. Bar graphs show a significant increase in neuron survival (*p < 0.05; n = 6) after treatment with Z-VAD-FMK and a significant reduction (*p < 0.05;n = 6) in the proportion of neurons that develop nuclear and cytoplasmic inclusions after treatment with Z-DEVD-FMK.
