Temporal changes in [Ca2+]i in response to high K+. Perfusion with high K+occurred immediately after time 0. After 30 min, perfusion with medium alone reduced the extracellular KCl concentration to normal levels. The [Ca2+]i at 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 31, and 35 min after addition of high K+ was compared with the [Ca2+]i obtained immediately before addition of high K+ to obtain the percentage of change. The data shown represents the average and the SE of five experiments.
