Methodical approach in the current study. Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus was induced in male C57/Bl6N mice by IP injection of streptozotocin for 5 consecutive days. Blood glucose testing was performed at day 7 after the first injection. Six weeks later, animals underwent bilateral renal ischemia (ischemia reperfusion injury), followed by systemic administration of native or preconditioned syngeneic murine PACs. Cytokine analysis was performed 2 days (48 h) later. IP: introperitoneally; PAC: proangiogenic cell.
