TBMS1 induces autophagy via the Akt-mTOR-eEF-2K signaling pathway. MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, or T47D cells were treated with 4 μM TBMS1 for different periods of time (a) or were treated with a series of concentrations of TBMS1 for 24 h (b). At the end of treatment, the protein levels were measured by Western blot. c MDA-MB-231 or T47D cells were transfected with nontargeting siRNA or eEF-2K-targeted siRNA followed by treatment with 8 μM TBMS1 for 24 h. The protein levels were measured by Western blot. d MDA-MB-231 or T47D cells were pretreated with 300 nM NH125 for 1 h, followed by treatment with 8 μM TBMS1 for 24 h. The protein levels were measured by Western blot. e MCF-7 cells were transfected with 2 μg Akt plasmid followed by treatment with 8 μM TBMS1 for 24 h, and the protein levels were measured by Western blot
