RT-PCR analysis of MAG mRNA in wild-type and L-MAGtrun mice. PCR was performed on cDNA derived from total brain RNA isolated from 16-, 30-, and 240-d-old wild-type and L-MAGtrun mice. The primers were derived from the 10th and 13th MAG exons, such that amplification of cDNA corresponding to S-MAG mRNA resulted in a 199 bp product, and amplification of cDNA derived from L-MAG mRNA resulted in a 154 bp product. PCR products were electrophoresed through a 2.5% agarose gel containing 1.5% Nusieve agarose and visualized by ethidium bromide staining.
