As described in Figure 2, 3H-thymidine incorporation assay was performed in the cultures containing FGF-2, IGF-1, and TGF-α at concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 100 ng/ml and in the control cultures. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01, as compared with the control cultures. Relative to IGF-1 and TGF-α, FGF-2 was more potent at concentrations ranging from 1 to 100 ng/ml (p < 0.01).
