Mutation of the spermidine acetyltransferase SpeG leads to an increase in colibactin-associated genotoxicity. Colibactin-mediated genotoxicity was determined by infection of HeLa cells with E. coli strain SP15 and ΔspeE and ΔspeG mutants and quantification of H2AX phosphorylation. MOI = 50 and 100.
