The TNF-α concentrations in the sham group and surgery+Dex group were lower than that in the surgery group on days 1 and 3 (A, both P<0.01). On day 7, there were no significant differences among groups. The serum IL-1β concentrations in the surgery group and surgery+Dex group were both higher than that in sham group on day 1 (B, P<0.01). However, on day 3, while the IL-1β concentration in the surgery group was still higher than that in the sham group (P<0.05), the concentration in the surgery+Dex group had decreased to less than that in the surgery group (P<0.05).
