Isatin-Schiff base copper (II) complex induces apoptosis and necrosis in MCF7 cells.

 MCF7 cells were treated with Complex (50 μM), Ligand (50 μM), CuCl2 (50 µM) and DMSO (1%, vehicle control) for 24 h, and then stained with APC Annexin V and Propidium Iodide to evaluate percentage of apoptotic and necrotic cells. Stained cells were analyzed by flow cytometry using BD FACSAria III and data processed with FlowJo software package. Quadrants represent following: Q1 – early apoptotic cells (Annexin V positive); Q2 – late apoptotic and necrotic cells (double positive); Q3 – healthy live cells (double negative); Q4 – necrotic cells (PI positive).
