Fig. 5 — SST content in data in different product levels. L2P data are on the original viewing geometry, with gaps in SST from cloud cover. These are gridded per orbit to L3U. A day’s worth of L3U SSTs from a given sensor is collated to form an L3C product. Data from multiple sensors are merged and interpolated to give the daily gap-free SST field of the L4 analysis.
