Note that, in this study, the carrier frequency was lowered to 750 Hz compared to 2000 Hz in the study of Gallun et al. to provide a temporal fine structure (TFS) cue. Substantial improvement in performance in this study suggests that listeners were able to use TFS to perform the task.
