Go/NoGo reaction time paradigm. (A) Time course of the different steps of a Go/NoGo trial. During the waiting period (2–3 s), the subject holds the index finger on the right button. Then a warning signal (WS) appears for 500 ms (white outlined rectangle), followed by the imperative signal (IS), which was either a Go signal (green rectangle) or a NoGo signal (red rectangle). The subject had to press the left button as fast as possible after the Go signal or keep his/her index finger on the right button in case of a NoGo signal.
