Generative instructors are different from active instructors in COPUS instructional profiles, proportion of class time spent working, and proportion of class time spent on higher-order cognitive skills (HOCs). Pseudonyms starting with the letter “G” designate “generative instructors” and pseudonyms starting with “A” designate “active instructors.” It is important to note that categorizations of generative and active were based on a single class period.
