In a collaborative approach; physicians, academic laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, scientific communities and regulatory bodies should acknowledge their complementary expertise and define the potential role that is envisioned for molecular imaging. The research questions should be defined in such way that it can directly be translated to decisions of which imaging tools are most suited for that particular purpose.
