T483C/V484C and V484C/N485C are present over time at levels that normally allow for fusion. (A) Vero cells were transfected with WT HeV F or one of the TMD mutants. At 24 h posttransfection, the cells were metabolically labeled for 30 min. Following different chase time points, the samples were immunoprecipitated and analyzed by 10% SDS-PAGE. (B) Expression was quantified by densitometry and normalized to the value for WT HeV F at each time point.
