Means and standard error of the means (s.e.m.) (x10–6 cells/μm2) of PV cell densities presented based on age (P15 vs. adult), housing (SE vs. EE), cell type (Hi vs. Lo PV) and region (Medial vs. Lateral). All factors contributed to differences, with EE groups exhibiting significantly greater Lo PV cell densities in lateral regions at P15 as well as both medial and lateral areas as adults (see text for details).
