The purple “M” circles represent Markov nodes after which a patient transitions between health states (e.g., no cancer, post-cancer survival, cancer, dead from disease, and dead from other causes) each cycle. The green circles represent chance nodes after which a probability is assigned to each event. The red triangles at the end of each branch represent terminal nodes, which indicate which state patients will transition to in the next cycle
