α-GalNAcase GH31s cleave α-GalNAc from the peptide backbone. a, a peptide containing a GalNAc-α-threonine residue (BODIPY-IL29) was subjected to overnight enzymatic cleavage by the GH31 exo-α-GalNAcases from B. caccae and B. plebeius identified in this study.
