Schematic of the development of the platelets with PD1 presentation and reactivation of the CD8+ T cells. The PD1-expressing platelets were obtained from the MKs that were genetically transfected with the lentivirus encoding PD1, and further loaded with CP, an immunosuppressant. The PD1-expressing platelets with CP could efficiently accumulate to the surgical wounds and release both PD1 and CP. The released PD1 blocked the PDL1 on the tumor cells to reactivate the CD8+ T cells, while the released CP depleted the Tregs to enhance the activity of the CD8+ T cells.
