1 Particles were synthesized by mixing equal volumes of F127 and HAuCl4 solutions (final concentrations 1–10% w/w, pH 6.5, and 0.25 mM respectively) followed by incubation of the mixture for 2 h at 55 °C. Particles were purified as described in Table 1. The purified nanoparticles were restored to original volume with distilled water (particles concentration remained the same before and after purification).
