(B) Theoretical assumption of a one-to-one mapping between division-birth slope and size control, in which slope = 0 implies sizer control and slope = +1 implies adder control. No intermediate values for the slope are expected. (C) Slope values between 0 and +1 could be interpreted as a mix between sizer and adder control (or an imprecise sizer or imprecise adder).
