Microtiter wells were coated with BSA-mannan and were incubated with SP-Ds in the presence of increasing concentrations of sugars listed. Binding of collectin to BSA-mannan was measured by immunodetection as described in the Materials and Methods section. Results are expressed as concentrations (mM) of saccharide required for 50% inhibition of SP-D binding (IC50) to BSA-mannan. Data are averages of three experiments; SD values in parentheses.
