Characterization of placental macrophages. (A) Placental CD14⁺ cells from 20 different placentas were analyzed for the expression of CD14 and CD68 by flow cytometry. Representative dot-blots are shown. (B) Placental macrophages from the placentas of male fetuses were analyzed for the expression of X, Y, and 18 chromosomes.
