1 The freezing-induced injured leaves and total leaves of 5 plants each block was counted and the percentage of the freezing-induced injured leaves was expressed as (total injured leaves/total leaves) × 100%. The H index was calculated by equation (H (%) = [Σ (ni × xi)/(N × 4)] × 100) described in Section 4.2.
