l‐fucose treatment augments TRAIL‐induced apoptosis predominantly via the activation of DR5. COLO 205 (A), DLD‐1 (B), HCT 116 (C), SW948 (D) and WiDr (E) cells were pretreated with 0 or 50 mm l‐fucose for 24 h and subsequently incubated with 0.05–500 ng·mL ⁻¹ rhTRAIL WT, DHER or 4C7 for another 16 h. Cell death was assessed using MTS assay. Blue bars represent cells without adding l‐fucose and red bars represent cells pretreatment with 50 mm l‐fucose. The values shown are mean ± SD of three independent experiments.
