Schematic illustration for the interpretation of the tendinous complex in the medial elbow. The pronator teres (PT), flexor digitorum superficial (FDS), flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU), and brachialis muscles are speculated to work together and transmit the muscular power to the humeroulnar joint via the tendinous complex, which consists of the tendinous septa (TS) between the PT and FDS muscles and the deep FDS aponeurosis (red dotted area), the TS between the FDS and FCU muscles and the deep FCU aponeurosis (blue dotted area), and the joint capsule (black dotted area).
