Expression of inflammation/fibrotic factors and extracellular matrix proteins. Relative mRNA and miRNA expression was calculated using the 2^ΔCT (ΔCT = CT_{reference RNA} − CT_target), and values were expressed as fold change over young group (n = 4‐7 per group). Reproductive ageing is associated with an inflammatory and profibrotic ovarian microenvironment, increased levels of cytokines and collagens, and decreased level of the antifibrotic mi29c-3p RNA. Apocynin treatment reverts the expression of inflammation and fibrosis factors. Y: young; AG: aged; AA: aged apocynin.
