Relative contamination of maize cobs of different ripening ages (R3, R4, R5) with aflatoxin B₁ when incubated at the actual water activity levels of the maize kernels at the different growth stages at 30 and 37°C. The toxigenic strain NRRL 3375 was used. The values of p indicate no evidence of difference between temperatures. Ripening stage treatments with the same letters were not significantly different using the Wilcoxon for each pair test (p ≥ 0.05). Overall analyses was done using the Non-Parametric data – Wilcoxon Test. Ripening stages: R3 × R4 × R5, p = 0.0009; Temperatures: 30 × 37°C, p = 0.7728.
