Aspirin enhances the effects of 5-FU by inhibiting NF-κB activation in vivo. (A) Western blotting analysis of p-p65 and p-IKK-β in tumor tissue samples treated with ASA alone or in combination with FU. (B) Detection of NF-κB by DNA binding in xenograft tumor tissues treated with ASA alone or in combination with FU. (C) Western blotting analysis of NF-κB-dependent gene products (VEGF, Survivin, Bcl-2, and cyclin D1) and Ki67 in colon cancer tissues treated with ASA alone or in combination with FU. Samples from three animals in each group were analyzed.
