Women with PCOS (n = 87) and controls (n = 67) were categorized based on the presence of PCOM in neither (light gray), one (dark gray), or both ovaries (black). PCOM was defined according to recent international consensus guidelines or proposed diagnostic thresholds including: (A) FNPO ≥ 20 (3), (B) FNPO ≥ 25 (7), (C) FNPS ≥ 9 (13), and (D) OV ≥ 10 ml (3,7,16).
