Cortical thickness has been analyzed for 738 subjects (ADNI and AIBL combined) and controlled for age, APOE4, intracranial volume (ICV), field strength, and scanner. The p-values have been corrected for multiple comparisons using random field theory. The figure demonstrates that males have a thinner cortex than females, as indicated by a negative t-statistic in blue.
