Defining the VOI. Two volumes of interest (VOIs) representing the area 1 hand regions in the left and right hemispheres are overlaid onto the 38 subjects mean MRI. The black contours represent the cytoarchitectural probability map of area 1. The white contours represent the final VOIs after they have been physically shrunken to minimize contamination from neighbouring areas.
