Trial name or title Promotion of healthy lifestyle and risk modification for cancer survivors and their partners/caregivers (ENRICH: exercise and nutrition routine improving cancer health)
Methods A wait‐list randomised controlled trial
Participants Patients who have been diagnosed with cancer of any type and have completed all active treatment. Participants are either cancer survivors or carers
Interventions The ENRICH intervention provides education and information for participants to set up their own home‐based walking programme with pedometer, their own resistance training programme with Gymstick (exercise stick with elastic tubing), and healthy diet info provided via 6 face‐to‐face, 2‐hour sessions, over an 8‐week period
The wait‐list control group will receive the intervention after the programme has been evaluated
Outcomes Physical activity, self‐reported step counts, fruit and vegetable intake, BMI, waist circumference, social support levels, QoL, mediators of physical activity changes
Outcome measures at baseline and at 8 weeks (endpoint), 20 weeks, and 12 months
