A hypothetical scheme of dysregulation of AMPAR movement in the early stage of AD. AβOs disturb exocytosis of the GluA1/GluA2 heteromers to the extrasynaptic membrane in a basal condition and in LTP, and suppress exocytosis of GluA1 homomers to the periphery of postsynaptic membrane immediately after LTP-inducing stimulation.
