Immunolocalization of NTPDase2 in the eutopic (AC) and ectopic (DF) endometrial tissue. NTPDase2 was detected in the stroma of the basal layer (asterisks) in cyclic endometria from women without (A) and with (B,C) endometriosis. It was also present in the stromal component (asterisks) of the superficial peritoneal (D) and deep infiltrating lesions (F, vaginal nodule). NTPDase2 was also found in eutopic and ectopic epithelial ciliated cells in the cilia (arrows) (detail in the inset in E). Scale bars are 200 μm (A,C), 100 μm (B,DF), and 10 μm (inset in E).
