Overexpression of NPAS2 Aggravates Hepatic Fibrogenesis in Both the CCl4 and BDL Models

(A) H&E and picrosirius red staining revealed the increased liver-bridging fibrosis and collagen deposition in lenti-NPAS2 mice in the CCl4-induced fibrosis model. (B) Hydroxyproline content in the CCl4-induced liver tissues. (C and D) Col1α1 and α-SMA expression were upregulated in NPAS-OE mice compared with that in control mice in CCl4-induced fibrosis model. (E) H&E and picrosirius red staining revealed the aggravated liver-bridging fibrosis and collagen deposition in lenti-NPAS2 mice in the BDL-induced fibrosis model. (F) Hydroxyproline content in BDL-induced liver tissues. (G and H) Col1α1 and α-SMA expression were increased in NPAS-OE mice compared with that in control mice in BDL-induced fibrosis model (n = 8–10 for each group). *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01.
