Performance of succinate-producing strain (ST8578) on glucose or glycerol as carbon source. The strains were cultivated in shake flasks on YP medium with 20 g/L glucose monohydrate (A), 18.5 g/L glycerol (B), or 40 g/L glycerol (C), with OD600 profile showing the ability of the cells to grow on glucose with longer lag phase compared to glycerol (D). The values are averages from three biological replicates, the error bars show the standard deviation.
