Illustration of the difference in trip volumes between wards in Oxfordshire. In the figure, both destinations (Thames Ward and Drayton Ward) have similar resident and working populations, and both are at approximately 11 km from Botley & Sunningwell Ward. However, there are about twice as many trips from Botley to Drayton as there are from Botley to Thames. This might be explained by the difference in the composition of both wards as shown by their points of interest on OpenStreetMap: Drayton Ward is markedly more urban compared to Thames Ward.
