Galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) in serum and secreted by IgA1-producing cells derived from patients with IgA vasculitis with nephritis (IgAV-N) and IgA vasculitis without nephritis (IgAV-woN) compared with those derived from patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and healthy control subjects (HC). (a) IgA1-secreting cells from patients with IgAV-N or IgAN produced more Gd-IgA1 than did those from patients with IgAV-woN or HC. Gd-IgA1 data were normalized to total IgA1 and are expressed in U/mg IgA1. (b) Serum levels of Gd-IgA1 were higher in patients with IgAV-N or IgAN than those in patients with IgAV-woN or HC.
