Figure 4

Effect of GA3 application on endogenous GAs levels in sweetpotato “Georgia Jet” roots. Levels of bioactive (GA1, GA4, and GA7) and inactive (GA20) forms of GA, measured at two weeks (2W) after planting, are presented. Bars represent mean of three independent biological replicates (each consisting of roots pooled from four individual plants) ± SE. Significance analysis was performed by using student’s t-test (P ≤ 0.05), where unlike letters represent significant differences between treatments within a sampling group. CTRL, Control (treated with water); GA3, application of 50 ppm gibberellic acid 3 for two weeks; PB, application of 5 ppm paclobutrazol for two weeks. The content of GA3 (active form) was relatively high, reaching values 10,000, 70,000, and 4,000 ng g-1 DW for CTRL, GA3, and PB treatment groups, respectively.
