OHCs consistently display the lowest levels of both NADH and NADPH. By combining the NAD(P)H fluorescence intensities and decay parameters using established procedures³⁴, internal comparisons between cell types of the absolute NADH (A–F) and NADPH (G–L) levels could be made at each postnatal age. Differences (<) between cell types were taken as P < 0.05. NADPH levels were typically highest in the pillar cells.
