GlyCer-dependent susceptibility of A. niger dtdA deletion strain to AFP. Data represent growth of A. niger ΔdtdA strain NP1.15 at different AFP concentrations and in the presence (white bars) or absence (gray bars) of the d-PDMP. Growth was evaluated by determining the optical density at 600 nm during microtiter plate cultivations. Data were normalized to the growth, i.e., 100% growth, of control samples which were not treated with AFP. NP1.15 spores were treated with the d-PDMP solvent (water) or d-PDMP. Data are expressed as means of results from two independent biological experiments performed in a technical triplicate. Error bars express standard deviations.
