Antibacterial activity of free and encapsulated drugs against S. aureus measured by optical density as a function of time. Concentration of either free lysostaphin or LL-37 was adjusted at 100 µg/mL. While concentrations of lysostaphin and LL-37 in encapsulated forms were equal to 105 and 115 µg/mL, respectively. As depicted in the figure, encapsulated lysostaphin/LL-37 showed a long-time and enhanced antistaphylococcal activity against S. aureus.
