ASH reverses TRAIL resistance and induces apoptosis in Hep3B cells by targeting p53 and PUMA. (A,B) Wild-type and p53−/−Hep3B cells or (C,D) wild type and PUMA−/−Hep3B cells were pretreated with ASH (2.5 μM) and TRAIL (50 ng/mL) for 12 h. Control group received an equal amount of vehicle (PBS + 0.01% BSA + 0.1% DMSO). Cell survivals were detected by the Trypan blue dye exclusion assay. The cleavage of PARP-1 and the expression of p53 or PUMA were analyzed via Western blotting. * p < 0.05.
