FA supplementation improved cognitive performances in SAMP8 mice. Mice were assigned to treatment groups as described in Figure 1. Cognitive performances were evaluated by the Morris water maze (MWM) (AD) and open field (OF) (EF) tests. Escape latency indicated in time [Ftime = 383.018, P<0.001; Ftreatment = 56.650, P<0.001] (A) and distance [Ftime = 363.834, P<0.001; Ftreatment = 27.208, P<0.001] (B) during the spatial acquisition phase of the MWM test. Time in the targeted quadrant [F(5,54) = 26.253, P<0.001] (C) and number of crossings [F(5,54) = 59.071, P<0.001] (D) during the spatial probe phase of the MWM test. (E) Total travel distance that the mouse moved in the OF test [F(5,54) = 48.038, P<0.001]. (F) Time spent in the center of the OF [F(5,54) = 25.850, P<0.001]. Data are expressed as mean ± SD (n= 10 mice/group). *P<0.05 compared with FA-N group. #P<0.05 compared with Con-Y group. &P<0.05 compared between FA-L and FA-H groups.
