Heme induces iPSC differentiation. iPSCs were treated with heme for 18 hours. (A) The number of cells positive for pluripotency markers (OCT-3/4, SSEA-4, and SOX-2) was determined using flow cytometry analysis. (B) The number of pluripotent cells decreased with increasing heme concentrations. The lowest percent of pluripotent cells was observed when heme was used at a concentration of 90 μM.
