Measurements of oxidative stress by flow cytometry. The experiments were carried out using 1.25 μM MitoSOX Red on both untreated cells (-H2O2) and on cells under acute oxidative condition (+H2O2). Frataxin overexpression has a clear negative effect on the response of the cells to oxidative stress conditions. This effect, although at a lower level, can be seen even when cells are not treated with H2O2. Data expressed as means ± SD (n = 3/5). **P ≤ 0.0045 and ****P ≤ 0.0001 compared to 8-day control sample.
